INDORE: An eight year old school girl who was raped in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh last week is now recovering from her critical condition, doctor treating her said on Saturday.
“Her condition is better than the one she was brought in and she’s out of danger now. She’s being given semi-solid food and is speaking today. We are monitoring her. She was also examined by doctors called from outside,” the doctor said while interacting with the media.
The young girl, studying in Second standard, was standing outside her school on Tuesday, waiting for her parents to pick her up outside when she was lured away by the two men, Irfan and Asif. They raped her, tortured her and then slit her throat before walking away, leaving her to die.
Later, the injured girl, was found 700 metres from her school, battling for her life.
From the CCTV footage, where the two men were spotted leading the girl away, the police made their first arrest and caught Irfan on Wednesday night. Asif, the second suspect was arrested on Friday.
On Saturday, the police sources confirmed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would be constituted to investigate the rape of an eight-year-old girl, and would try to give them the punishment they deserve.
“We are investigating the matter with top-most priority. A SIT has also been constituted. The second accused has also been sent to police remand. We are doing everything to get them the punishment they deserve,” Mandsaur, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Rakesh Mohan Shukla told ANI.
‘Massive protest, demanding death penalty’
The gang rape led to a massive protests, with thousands of people from different section of the societies, showing their concern over women safety in India, took the streets across the State, demanding the death penalty for the criminals who has committed such a heinous crime. Among them, people from Muslim community stated that they would debarred the family members of the criminals and would even make sure that the criminals should not get a piece of land for their grave.
The victim father also demanded a death sentenced for the accused.
“I do not want any compensation. I just want the accused to be hanged till death,” he said.
‘Communalising Kathua VS Mandsaur’
At the time when the entire country is united and supporting the girl who is battling her life in the hospital, few people on social media is comparing this rape case with the one that occurred few months back in Kathua, spreading a communal hatred among the different societies of the country.
People at different social media platform namely Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc; are sharing post where they are differentiating the two incidents with their religion. In spite of talking on the issue of women safety as a whole in India, these people seems more keen in promoting communal hatred among different societies.
